Where Binance identity verification actually sits — and why a referral code will not unstick it
Official help (updated 2026-07-02) puts personal KYC under Account → Identification. Mismatched names, the wrong issuing country, and refreshing mid-upload are the usual rejects. Review time follows Binance’s text, not a blog timer.
A stuck KYC check is not a missing referral ID
Google Trends keeps binance kyc on the chart every week. Most of those queries are operational: where is the form, why was the ID rejected, how long does review take. Referral code BNB1088 does not answer any of that. The code only affects how eligible trading fees are later shared. Verification decides whether deposits, trades, withdrawals and higher limits open at all.
Official personal-verification article last updated 2026-07-02 (Chinese help page we captured) / 2026-06-04 (English twin). We did not enter the login-only upload screens.

The door is inside the account, not on the first sign-up card
The public article puts the website path at Account → Identification, or the homepage banner labelled Verify / Get verified. The English FAQ also says new users are generally required to complete Verified to use deposits and trades.
Document types and whether proof of address is required vary by country. Do not copy another jurisdiction’s list. Whether Binance is available to you is a terms-of-use question. This article does not describe how to bypass a regional restriction.

Three rejects that are not “the photo was a bit dark”
The English steps say personal details must match the ID and usually cannot be edited after confirmation. Typical failures:
- Name, date of birth or document number disagrees with the card. Dropped middle names and old surnames count as a mismatch.
- Residence and document-issuing country mixed up, so the allowed document list is wrong from the first dropdown.
- Glare, cropped edges, or a photo of a screen. The help text also says not to refresh the browser during the flow.
If your region asks for proof of address, the separate help article wants a document in your name, with the address, issue date and issuer, and not older than the window shown on that page (commonly described as three months — check the live text).
Do not email ID images to hello@nelunor.com. Do not send them into a private chat that offers to “finish KYC for you”.
How long review takes — as Binance wrote it
The English FAQ says submitted documents are usually reviewed within 48 hours, longer in particular cases. That is not a ticket-level promise. If it overruns, use in-app official support, not a freelance agent.
Passing KYC does not switch on every product. Futures, fiat rails and P2P can still be blocked by region or risk checks. Withdrawal limits live on the identification page, not on the 0.100% spot table.
The official late-binding rules for a missed referral code include “the KYC identity has not been used on another account in 180 days”. Opening a second account on the same documents to swap codes can fail that test.
