Where the Binance referral ID actually appears: BNB1088, the blank first screen, and late binding
The first Binance sign-up card often shows only email or phone. Referral code BNB1088 lives in the URL. How to confirm ref=, when the Referral ID field appears, and the official conditions for binding later.
The referral box is often missing on purpose
Worldwide Google Trends for the past year puts binance referral code well below binance fees and binance p2p. The searches still happen every week. A large share of those queries is not “which code is best”. It is “I opened sign-up and there was nowhere to type it”.
On 2026-08-22 the public registration flow that carries ref=BNB1088 opened on a card titled for new accounts, with email or phone, a privacy checkbox, and social login. There was no Referral ID field on that first card. The code was already in the address bar.
Source check: 2026-08-22. Layout, eligibility, rebate share and binding rules can change. Nothing below is a quote for your account.

Confirm the URL before you confirm the form
Type or inspect the domain yourself. Then look for ref=BNB1088 in the query string. In our check, www.binance.com/join?ref=BNB1088 resolved to an accounts.binance.com register URL and kept the same ref value.
The code from this site is BNB1088. You can inspect whether the official flow carries it:
Open Binance’s official registration page with BNB1088
This is an affiliate link. If you register, nelunor may earn a commission. That does not increase what you pay. A referral relationship, once created, generally cannot be changed. Any fee rebate, its size, and the products it covers are only those shown in the official flow at sign-up. Through this code, the rebate on eligible trading fees is up to 20%*.
*The rate, duration and product scope follow the exchange page at the time. “Up to” is not a fixed 20% for every account, and it does not discount bank fees, network fees or spread.
Browser extensions, in-app browsers and short links from chat apps can strip ref=. If the parameter is missing or points at another code, do not assume BNB1088 is attached.
When the Referral ID field shows up
After the first card, the flow can still ask for a verification code, a password and security settings. The Referral ID (sometimes Inviter, often marked optional) usually sits on a later form, not on the welcome card.
We did not complete sign-up with a live mailbox, so we will not fake a screenshot of that later step. Two facts still hold:
- A blank first screen does not mean the referral dropped.
- If a later field appears, it should read BNB1088, not someone else’s code and not an empty box you ignore.
Do not sign in from an unsolicited short URL. Typing the official domain and checking ref= is slower and safer than trusting a screenshot in a chat.
Binding after you already have an account
Binance’s Referral Pro FAQ, updated 2026-08-05, says a missed code can be bound later only if all listed conditions hold. The public list includes:
- the KYC identity has not been used on another account in the past 180 days;
- the account has no existing referral relationship;
- it is a parent account, not a sub-account;
- you are within 30 days of registration;
- the account has no deposit or trading activity;
- the account is not flagged for wash trading.
Miss one item and the bind path may simply be unavailable. The same FAQ states that once a referral relationship exists, it cannot be changed or removed. Closing an account to open another for referral benefits can lead Binance to stop commissions.
“I’ll add the code later” is not the default path. If you want BNB1088, finish the URL and field check before the account exists.

KYC failures are a different problem
A rejected identity check is usually a document type, a glare in the photo, a name mismatch, or a product that is not offered in that country. It is not caused by a missing referral code.
The code only affects how eligible trading fees are later shared. It does not unlock a restricted region and it does not lower a withdrawal network fee.
We cannot capture login-only KYC screens, and we will not publish anyone’s ID. If verification stalls, use in-app official support. Do not send documents into a private chat.
Why the fee page still shows 0.100% after you used a code
On 2026-08-22 the public spot table listed 0.100% / 0.100% for regular users, and 0.07500% / 0.07500% in the BNB 25% off column. That column is the BNB payment discount, not the referral share.
On the referral side, Binance describes an invitee discount that the referrer can set between 0% and 20% of eligible trading fees. Treat those as separate knobs:
- Do not add “BNB 25% off” to “up to 20% referral” and call the result an official 40% gift. Whether they stack, and how, is whatever the order preview shows.
- Spot and futures follow different referral rulebooks. Futures can have a time limit at the base tier.
- Rebates may arrive in USDC and can stop when an account reaches a stated VIP threshold.
The number that matters is the commission line in your own history. Public schedule: Fees & Transactions Overview.
Three questions before you create the account
- Does Binance currently offer this product where I live? The terms page outranks any guide.
- Can I absorb an irreversible transfer mistake and a large price move?
- Is the domain one I checked, and is
ref=BNB1088still the code in the URL?
Crypto assets can fall by a large fraction. Leveraged products can lose the entire margin. This is not investment advice. nelunor is not part of Binance.
